Hicks vs Hacks Semi-Tri Annual Golf Fundraiser

The Hicks vs Hacks Semi-Tri Annual Golf Extravaganza is our main fundraising event.

We have held this "Hicks vs. Hacks golf tournament" 18 times over the past 13 years as a way to try and keep in touch with each other as we get older, more spread out and have more scheduling conflicts. As the field of golfers grew from its original number of 16 golfers in 2010 to 84 golfers in 2019, we thought we could put our time and money to good use by pooling funds at this tournament for a common cause. After thinking about some of the uses for our money, the one major commonality among the participants was that the majority of us went to Brentsville High School (or we know someone who does) and that’s why they play in the tournament. So since 2014, we have used this money to provide a college scholarship to a graduating Brentsville student attending college. To date we have provided a $2,500 scholarship to students attending UVA, NC State, Bridgewater, Radford, Longwood, VCU, CNU, ECU, Marshall & UNCW.
